Hall Of Fame WKNR - Detroit - Batmobile Spot

This commercial ran on legendary Detroit Top 40 station WKNR "Keener 13" in 1967.

This particular Batmobile, one of the original 5 created by George Barris, was the drag strip version. It was billed as "the first ever appearance of the million dollar Batmobile".

Great classic drag strip commercial.

WKNR's call letters were moved to an AM
station in Battle Creek, MI around 1969-70, and then called"KEENER 14."
I used to skip school in the 10th grade to hang out with Rick D'Amico, who was the PD there. Last I knew, Rick was an Anchor at Battle Creek's first TV station,
WUHQ,Channel 41 in the mid seventies.

WKNR eventually became "KEENER14,WKNR" in Battle Creek, Michigan by the very late sixties, definately by 1971.
I used to skip out of Springfield High in my sophomore year to hang out there.
What sucked then, was it was automated by a Harris 9000.
Rick D'Amico was the PD at the time, and became a news anchor at Battle Creek's first TV station,WUHQ, Channel 41.
